Side effects

S

I suspect most people focus too much on the side effects of doing something, versus the side effects of not doing anything.

For example:

  •  The side effects of vaccines (eg 2 out 100,000 get heart side effects from COVID vaccines, versus the side effects of not getting vaccinated – you can ‘do your own research‘ on this one)
  • The side effects of exercising (injuries, muscle tears, etc) versus not exercising (lack of mobility, heart disease, etc) – just throwing this one in for balance
  • The side effects of Ozempic (abdominal pain, headaches, etc) versus the side effects of not (continued obesity, heart disease, reduced energy through the day etc)
  • The side effects of driverless cars (less crashes) versus continuing with human drivers (more crashes and deaths per million miles)

The reason we focus on the side effects of doing something, is because that’s all that’s reported on – you don’t see many news reports about the side effects of something that hasn’t changed in years…
