Hi, I’m Craig Bailey and this is my personal blog where I write about technology, business systems, HubSpot and general life experiences. You can read my posts here.

(If you are looking for the Content is King post by Bill Gates it is here)

I’m involved with three agencies in Sydney:

  • The first is XEN Systems. We help government departments and mid-large B2B technology companies with their sales and marketing strategy, including implementation and training in HubSpot
  • The second is XEN Create. We provide premium graphic design services to companies, with a focus on using the latest AI tools, including Midjourney
  • The third is XEN Solar, where we help high quality solar companies (dealers, installers) with their sales and marketing processes.

I also co-host HubShots, the podcast and YouTube show focussed on getting the most out of HubSpot. We are the creators of the HubShots Framework.

So it goes

S

I love Stratechery for a whole bunch of reasons related to tech, insight and the larger picture. And also for the occasional tidbits like last Tuesday’s note that alerted me to the origins of the phrase ‘so it goes’. It’s from Kurt Vonnegut’s 1969 book Slaughterhouse-Five. From the New Yorker earlier this year: “I had not remembered, until I reread...

I think I’m a fearful person…

First thing I thought I’d do is list out a bunch of the things I’m fearful about. Here’s just a few – I’m fearful of: harmdiscomfortpainchangespeaking at eventsmeeting peoplestriking up conversations doing hard worknot having a missionill...

Artificial Content Intelligence

The content, the authors, even their photos, are all fake – generated by algorithms. Ian and I chat further about this in Shot 1 of episode 163 of HubShots. *Almost everything – the post titles are created by a...

[Episode 73] Infuriating Signup Offers

Ever responded to a promotion of a free trial only to find out they then ask for your credit card? Infuriating right?
In episode 73 of HubShots I highlight a recent experience, plus review some of the new HubSpot features including the new ShutterStock integration – sweet!

We released a very simple Facebook chat bot for the HubShots podcast.
You can chat with HubShots Bot here.
The bot is built in Chatfuel, and thanks to Matt Barby for his post here giving an introduction.

Ross Hudgens on the Skyscraper technique

R

I always love reading Ross’ posts, and this one is another good example of why. In it Ross explains the difference between what the Skyscraper technique actually is versus what it’s perceived to be: Like the name states: it’s a technique. A valuable technique in any toolkit, but one many can misapply if incorrectly assessed. Think it through, have the self-awareness to know what you...
