Silverlight 2 Beta 1 Controls Source code released

Not only does the download (a whopping 687 KB :-) include all the source code for the S2B1 controls, but also all the unit tests. Check out Brad’s post for other useful links as well. Like this one from Shawn Burke which gives a nice overview.

SitePoint HTML and CSS References

You’ve no doubt used SitePoint before. So I probably don’t need to tell you about their excellent CSS Reference. And it’d be silly to think you don’t also know about their freshly released HTML Reference. Great resources.

Sydney BarCamp – 5 & 6 April 2008

A quick note to promote the upcoming Sydney BarCamp (or more correctly: BarCampSydney), being held at the Uni of NSW on April 5 & 6. Don’t know what BarCamp is? No problem – here’s the details. ‘BarCamp is an international network of unconferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants — focusing on early-stage web...

Microsoft Announces New Accessibility Tools

Great to see more developer stuff coming out that focuses on (or at least highlights) the need for improving accessibility of web sites. This particular site (released a week or so ago) is Microsoft’s take on it. If this were to come from Google or Mozilla it would of course be praised for its progressiveness, but coming from Microsoft I wonder if people will label it as playing catchup...

Microsoft licenses Flash Lite

Microsoft is licensing Flash Lite for use on mobile devices. This announcement can only be a good thing right? The more options I have on my mobile the better. It doesn’t mean I won’t be using Silverlight of course (nice double negative for you).

New Sydney Business & Technology site coming (SBTUG)

We’ve been working on a new site for SBTUG. Check it out here. The new site is a Wiki and allows anyone to make changes (simple registration required). The aim over the coming months is to build into a much more community driven site (to date it has been static and updated by me once a month). But there’s so many smart, generous people in the group who have useful stuff to share that...

Get ClearContext for free

I’ve been using ClearContext for the last two months and I love it. But it costs over $100 (Australian). That’s a lot to pay. But I paid it and haven’t regretted it. However, what if you could get a license for free? Well you can. Check out the ClearContext blog for details – you just have to write a review of the product and let them know. For those not familiar with...

Google Sky

Google’s freshly released Google Sky is nice. But having seen the demos for the upcoming Microsoft World Wide Telescope I can’t help but be under-whelmed. btw when in Google Sky try clicking on Earth (from the Solar System link, bottom left) – it takes you to Google Maps…
