I’m feeling pretty bad tonight. Tonight I scraped the side of one of James and Jackie’s cars against a concrete pillar. But in order to appreciate the ‘specialness’ of this event you need to know that a few weeks ago I scraped the side of their other car (against a neighbour’s car). Yep, in under 4 weeks I’ve managed to damage both of their cars. They have...
OPINION: Minnesota driving rules
There are two road rules in Minnesota (and probably most of the US) that I really like. The first is that U Turns are legal everywhere. In Sydney (and most of Australia) they are illegal (you cop a fine and lose points). The second is the ‘Turn right on red’ anywhere rule. This is similar to the ‘Left run on red’ allowance that used to be common in Sydney but has been...
PERSONAL: Updated photos
To family and friends interested in our travels, I’ve been updating our photos albums here:
PERSONAL: A White New Year
Happy New Year everyone! Finally we get to see some great snow. We were hoping for a white Christmas last week (and missed out) but this morning all we can see is white (pictures here). It all started last night when we were out shopping (at yet another mall…) and it started piling down. This morning we awoke to a white blanket all over the surrounding woods. Beautiful. Thank you Minnesota...
TRAVEL: New York is safe
One of the things that pleasantly surprised us about New York last week, is how safe you feel. If you are like me (ie ill-informed most of the time {g}) and haven’t been to New York recently, then you probably still have visions of the crime ridded New York of a decade ago. Well that has drastically changed ofcourse in the last 8-10 years (and long before 9/11 in case you might have...
TRAVEL: Make sure you get Sydney right
Whilst this news story (here) sounds a little bit suspicious (it is too early to check it on Snopes yet), it does raise an important point… if you are coming to OzFox 2007 from overseas, make sure you end up in Sydney (Australia) not those other differently spelled cities that sound similar.

PERSONAL: Back from New York
Michele and I managed to get away to New York for a few days last week. It was our first time there, and we were totally blown away. What a fantastic, vibrant, busy, diverse, over-the-top city. Michele wants to move there. We only had time to spend 4 days in Manhatten, but we crammed in as many sight-seeing events as possible. We returned to Minneapolis at 10pm on Christmas Eve, just in time to...
